We believe that the most important factors in high quality animal housing are drainage, ventilation, light, and proper sanitation. Dog Years' main facility is a Morton Building, constructed in 2005. Specially designed as a kennel, it features sloped concrete floors in each run, two trench drains, eight windows located for light and ventilation, and a central exhaust fan designed to provide 40 air changes per hour. The building is heated and air conditioned, and is maintained at a temperature of 68-72 degrees. The enclosures are 4’x8’, manufactured by the Horst Company. Each run features 4’ privacy panels and a dog bed manufactured by Kuranda. Each run is vacuumed, washed, and sanitized at least daily, using disinfectant specifically designed for use with animals. Dogs are fed twice per day and get a freshly washed stainless steel feed bowl at each feeding. Water bowls are washed and replaced daily Through the rear door is an ample fenced exercise yard where each dog is taken 5 or 6 times per day for free exercise and play. In short, Dog Years is set up to provide your dog with a clean and comfortable environment, fresh air, exercise, and lots of attention. |
